The Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE) held the 2nd KICCE Open Day of 2025 on Friday, September 19, at 3:30 p.m. in the main conference room on the 5th floor of the institute. A total of 39 students from the Department of Family Environment and Welfare at Chonnam National University participated in the event, which was organized in conjunction with the department’s Career and Job Skill-up Program and the KICCE Open Day.
The lecture was delivered by Shinyeong Song, Head of the Publication and Public Relations Team, who introduced the institute’s roles, promotional activities, and the actual processes of policy research, engaging in active communication with the students. During the program, Ock Kyeung Hwang, President of KICCE, joined the session to welcome the students, briefly explain the institute’s functions and roles, and encourage their continued interest and support.
This Open Day provided a meaningful opportunity for university students, many of whom represent the next generation of prospective parents, to experience the field of policy research and to interact directly with researchers. Participants gained insights into the flow of policy research through an introduction to the institute, conversations with researchers, interactive Q&A sessions, and tours of the institute and its resource center. They also learned about major research outcomes conducted by KICCE. In addition, the institute introduced its public communication channels, including social media platforms and mailing services, to encourage broader engagement.
The program concluded with a satisfaction survey, allowing the institute to gather participants’ feedback for future improvements. The event not only enhanced public awareness and trust in KICCE’s policy research achievements but also strengthened connections with the younger generation. Going forward, KICCE will continue to establish itself as an open institute that engages with the public by creating diverse opportunities for communication and collaboration.
