The 3rd KICCE ECEC Policy Symposium in 2025: Outcomes and Future Directions of the ECEC Integration Pilot Program

The Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE) hosted The 3rd KICCE ECEC Policy Symposium on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the 5th-floor conference room of its headquarters. The symposium was organized to share the progress of the ECEC integration pilot program and to explore future tasks. The event opened with welcoming remarks by President Ock Kyeung Hwang (KICCE), followed by congratulatory remarks from President Kyung Sook Kim (Korea Edu-care Association) and Chairperson Mi Sook Shin (Korea Kindergarten Association).

In the presentation session, Senior Research Fellow Eun-Seol Kim delivered “(Year 1) Outcomes of the ECEC Integration Pilot Program and a Study on Implementation Support”; Senior Research Fellow Hae-mi Yoo presented “Outcomes of the 2024 ECEC Integration Pilot Program and Future Tasks”; and Senior Research Fellow Hyo Mi Choi presented “Current Status and Key Issues in the 2025 ECEC Integration Pilot Program.” In the subsequent comprehensive discussion, officials from the Ministry of Education, local governments, and field experts engaged in an in-depth debate on directions for the sustained advancement of the ECEC integration policy and the institutional improvements required.
